Our Mission
The mission of HDEART is to develop and maintain a consortium of academic universities and health-related institution as well as to access and utilize their expertise to address health disparities through collaboration, thereby strengthening each member institution’s capacity to address health disparities academically, socially, and through outstanding collaborative research efforts.
Our Goal
The overall goal of HDEART is to provide and share academic, teaching and research expertise to eliminate health disparities through community-based participatory research models. HDEART emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches through which clinical scientists, basic/behavioral scientists, social scientists, and community advocates collaborate on innovative projects leveraging the experience, intellectual strength, and energy of a diverse team. HDEART goal is also to create a cadre of young professionals seeking careers related to health disparities research by supporting such effort as was demonstrated by anchor course/workshop “Health Disparities in America: Working toward Social Justice”.
